Analysing The Advance Information
An important step to understanding the business
With less than a day to go before the Advance Information is released, do you know how you will analyse around 40 pages of information?
We suggest you read all the information so you start understanding the current position about the business.
You will see there are a number of Exhibits where information is mixed, for instance one exhibit could have information on customers, employees and suppliers. A later exhibit could have more customer information.
You need to be able to summarise the Advance Information so that similar points are grouped together.
We use templates in our Steps To Pass In Case book in order to help you create useful groupings.
You also need to understand how the business generates profits and cash and where it spends it's cash. What are the key financial issues facing the business? Which revenue streams are increasing or decreasing and why? Where do you think the business will be in the figures presented in the 2020 Exam Paper and why?
Knowledge of the business is one of the key cornerstones to passing the Case Study exam.
